The three-day diet is a type of diet that is for some reason attributed to the Cleveland Clinic. However, neither of these is even in any way sponsored by the Ohio-based clinic that everyone hears about.
Watch Out!
Keep an eye out for diet fads such as the following. Usually they all entail eating an increased amount of only certain types of foods, and in most case not even covering the entire food groups.
Okay, so some of these diets possibly might have some advantage. I mean, if the diet does consist of quite a bit of fiber it can help you clean out your system. This in turn causes weight loss.
However, note that oftentimes these fad diets only help a person succeed in losing muscle or water weight. Yet, the body is still often plagued by the same percentage of body fat.
It is important for you to know this, because the three-day diet and other fads are not meant for long-term weight loss. They might jump-start some people and also might be used for temporary motivation.
However, it is not often (if ever) one can get by with just using a diet like this and being able to permanently keep the weight off. Beware of this, as well as some rather ridiculous diets.
Other Fad Diets
In my opinion, one of the most ridiculous ones is the hot dog diet. Who in their right mind could think that this diet would even be the least bit healthy? I mean, I personally would rather choose the three-day diet over this one any day, because at least the three-day one calls for all healthy foods.
I can say there is only one diet that in my opinion sounds even more ridiculous than the supposed “hot dog†diet. Imagine the cookie diet! Although it does include some amount of health foods I can say that this diet could be a potential hazard.
I suppose the exception might be if you are eating sugar-free cookies. However, even then many people’s blood sugars probably would be affected, or they might experience some type of low-energy carb crash.
My Personal Advice
I say for the most part stick the old fashion government diet. After all, it is one of the few things that this large institution has probably done right by us. All these fad diets should be used very cautiously, if used at all.
