You Must Link Child Obesity And Fitness

Obesity is a disorder caused due to overweight and is calculated by Body Mass Index. Since last two years, there has been a rise in the number of cases of child obesity, which further leads to other diseases. Hence parents are worried about the health of the children.

Good eating habits and regular exercise.

Good eating habits is critical to maintaining your health. Its not only overeating but also eating at the wrong time, or continuous eating which causes obesity in children. Problems caused due to obesity are cardiovascular diseases caused due to accumulation of fat in arteries.  The accumulation of fat proves to be a block for blood circulation and heart has to pump blood with a greater force, which increases the risk of heart attack. Moderate exercise can also make you active and reduces risk of heart diseases. Excessive drinking of alcohol is a primary cause of obesity observed in most people. Eating oily food can also increase your cholesterol contents, which is again dangerous.

If child obesity is genetic, then a fitness trainer should be assigned to impart appropriate diet and exercise patterns to the child. Exercising burns out the calories and excessive fat accumulated and thus helps to reduce obesity problems.

Measures to control obesity

Few more measures to control obesity would be planning an appropriate and nutritious diet. Proper training has to be given to the children as well as to their parents on health eating habits. Diets have to be taken at a proper time and there should not be big difference between two timings of diets.

Stress can also be an influencing factor for obesity. Some people tend to overeat because of tension. Stress comes because of family problems, financial problems, medical problems etc.

There has to be a check on excessive drinking of alcohol. Also junk food from outside has to be avoided as it has very high oily content. People should also reduce eating meat as it has high cholesterol content. So if people maintain a good diet having a nutrition value and involve in a moderate exercise, obesity problems can be avoided.

Regular checkups

Parents should take regular checkups on their children measuring their height and weight. If any distortions are found in the results, it should be taken seriously and appropriate measures should be taken. Children should be encouraged to join gyms and to do exercise at least 4 times a week. Child obesity has more problems other than only health problems. A obese child doesn’t like to socialize and as a result gets into mental depression. In such cases, children would also require services of a psychologist to take out this mental barrier from their mind. Family doctor should take periodic checkups on children measuring body mass index, blood pressure since if any problem is detected earlier, it can always be cured.

Summary: So to sum it up, periodic checkups, regular exercise and a good nutritional diet all are important to keep a check on child obesity. If appropriate measures are followed by children and parents, child obesity can be cured as well as prevented.
