Snack Binges

Everyone now days care about his physical looks. When we put up even a little weight, we try to shed it off as soon as possible. But what is the way most people adopt? The way is dieting. They don’t take proper foods and rely on snack binges to get over the hunger. But does it help? Many think in assertive way but the truth lies on other side. Snack binges make the matter worse.

Imagine a situation, when you are on dieting. You are watching your favourite movie and while watching it you just grab a packet of potato chips and eat it. Then will your decision of being on dieting help you?

To stay in shape you need to control your habit of snack binges. Here are few ways to get rid of your habit of snack binges

  1. First of all never miss your breakfast, lunch and dinner. These are requisites for our body and provide much needed energy. If you skip any of these, you always will feel hungry. To overcome that hunger, you will eat something/ snack binges. Thus, instead of losing weight you will end on other side and will gain weight.
  2. Keep a tab on what you are eating. Food which you might think being nutritious might not be. Whenever you are eating food make sure you are eating nutritious foods. Skipping them or taking in less quantity may not quench your thirst and you might end up eating stuff which is full of fats. Thus, intake of nutritious food can stop your habit of snack binges.
  3. Even if you feel it difficult to control your habit of snack binges take those snacks which have less fat content (5% or less) but high on satisfaction. Low fat crackers, low fat cookies, without butter popcorn, graham crackers, sugar free chewing gum are some examples of healthy snacks which not only curb your hunger but also don’t allow putting up weight.
  4. An out of box idea is treating yourself with scented candles. With many people this works. When you have the itching to eat something, just light the candles and enjoy their aura. This might help you to overcome your habit of snack binges.
  5. The main reason why we feel hungry is our stomach is empty. If it is full, you will not have desire to eat. Thus, when you feel to have something, take some liquids. You can take non caffeinated herbal tea or honey. Keeping with the pace with people have become heath conscious, many drinks have came up in the market to quench the thirst of people and which are also on healthy side.
  6. If you watch a lot of TV, try to minimize it. TV incites one to take/ eat something when we are watching our favourite movie/ television show. Moreover, most of the commercials are targeted towards eateries, so it is always a better option to avoid watching excessive TV.

Thus, these are few ways to help you overcome your habit of snack binges.
