Jogging is a kind of running at a slow, constant speed. This term jogging is believed to have originated from England in the seventeenth century. Jogging is a very good exercise for the body. It is prescribed by doctors for diabetes, high blood pressure, and osteoporosis. Running helps in raising the HDL or good cholesterol level and reduces the risk of blood clots.

2. Psychological benefits of running

Apart from the physical benefits, running also has psychological benefits. It has been observed that running helps one build character and it boosts confidence. It also is a good stress relieve. Running outside on the trails leads to the release of endomorphism that can cause euphoria. Jogging has been used since ages to treat clinical depressions and addictions. It helps one deal with the stresses of daily life and enlightens the days. It has also been shown that running helps one focus better. Running on a regular basis could change a person’s life completely. People who run to loose weight end up becoming so much confident about them. Jogging is definitely a very good exercise for the body and the mind. Care must be taken while jogging. Proper gear such as shoes could help run for longer and better. Shoes are a very important aspect of jogging. Not wearing or using proper shoes while jogging could lead to various sorts of injuries.
