HGH for Weight Loss

Human Growth Hormone (HGH) is largely responsible for metabolic activity within the human body. Therefore, it has been marketed in numerous forms as a weight loss aid.

HGH and Weight Loss

The Human GH (or HGH) is responsible for the regulation of insulin in the body, which is a substance used for processing glucose (blood sugar). HGH also is responsible for synthesis of protein and the  transportation of amino acids past cell membranes.

One of the major contributors to the processes run by HGH is Insulin Growth Factor 1 (IGF-1). IGF-1  is monitored in order to determine the root cause of abnormal growth. Measurements of Insulin Growth Factor 1 along with results of GH stimulation tests can also determine function of pituitary gland.

Results of the above-mentioned tests are what doctors used to detect possible HGH deficiency. Decreased metabolism is one indirect cause of that deficiency, which makes it harder for people to lose weight

For that reason, more and more efforts to apply HGH treatments to weight loss programs is being made. At this time a number of over the counter products are offered in addition to the HGH injections administered only by doctor's prescription.

Effectiveness of GH-Based Weight Loss Products

Various products have been marketed not only for people who want to lose weight, but also for people who want to feel younger. The effectiveness of these products varies depending upon each individual who uses them.

Further studies need to be done in order for various Human Growth Hormone and related products to be approved by the FDA. At this time only the prescription injections are legally administered if a certain health condition such as HGH deficiency,. Adolescent Height Deficit, Turner's Syndrome, Prader-Willi Syndrome, Cacheta, Intrauterine Growth Retardation, or Chronic Renal Insufficiency.

Prescription Human Growth Hormone injections are not yet available by prescription for persons who want to lose weight that do not have one of the health problems mentioned above (or others that response favorably to HGH treatment). A serious health condition besides obesity needs to be addressed before this doctor's prescription can be given.

Therefore, many people turn to homeopathic versions of Human Growth Hormone-related formulas. Some of these are called precursors or enhancers because they are said to consist of amino acids and other growth factor components that stimulate natural GH production.

Homeopathic GH treatments are produced in powder, dropper, capsule, spray, or cream forms. All of these but the creams are taken internally, either  mixed with a juice, swallowed, or sprayed under the tongue. Creams are usually applied to the skin.

HGH-based that are taken orally are most likely to promote weight loss than creams because the creams are generally for cosmetic use. Often the liquid forms of this product would be recommended over the capsule forms because they absorb into the skin faster.

Furthermore, the non-prescription versions of GH products are generally less expensive than the prescription versions. Injection treatments often cost around $15,000 while a month supply of most types of homeopathic products usually only cost between $20.00 and $60.00.
