Body Image

It is usually said that the way you think is the way you actually feel. If you think you look beautiful then you are irrespective of what other feel for you. Having confidence in your own abilities is of utmost importance and it reflects back on your well being. Similarly your body image is what and how you think about it. The body image depicts your imagination, your perception and your emotions about it. This does not make a sense that what exactly you look in front of a mirror or what others see. It is affected by how you feel for your body when you touch it. Thus your prospective makes a sense and rest other things are completely non sense.

Many people look poor due to their improper dieting habits and inadequate exercising schedules. Most often people who have poor body image try variety of diets but that do not work sometimes. Dieting is supposed to be an easy way to attain a slim trim figure. A few people diet not because of they need proper weight according to their standards but they do it often because of their poor body image. It is important to hold on a healthy weight but constant dieting can adverse the conditions as they can lead to depression, physical sickness and many other serious symptoms.

There are many people who in spite of overweight think that they are. Some statistics shows that about 23 percent of men and 45 percent of women in healthy range of weight still think that they are overweight. Majority of them thus do dieting to lose weight in short span of time. But weight loss from dieting does not last long and it has numerous adverse impacts on physical and mental well being. There are likely chances that if you are in some weight loss program then also you can gain. Dieting affects mental state and those women who frequently do dieting can face problems like vomiting, depression, poor health and many other disorders which can be hazardous to health.

The seesaw of weight gain and then weight loss can put variety of heart risks and other health related troubles. Those who are on frequent diets have much greater risks of eating and healthy living disorders. Body image is generally a term that depicts a person’s perceptions and thoughts of his own physical manifestation. It is an intrinsic sense of taking a hold of body that is constructed by our brains. Body image of a person depends upon how they comprehend their external looks and in leading cases it is spectacularly different from the way they actually appear. Negative feelings towards a person’s own self can lead to mental imbalances such as eating disorders and depressions.

A body image can varies from good to bad depends upon a person’s prospect. But an extreme state of criticism generally involves a characteristic body image disorder called body dysmorphic disorder that is a thought of distorted image. A person’s orientation of life also shapes his thought of feel about his own body.
