Proteins in bread

Protein is a vital component of a balanced diet and it is the basic building block of the body. They are made up of amino acids that are essential for the body build up. There are 20 amino acids among which 9 are essential and 11 are non essential amino acids.

Essential amino acids are to be taken from the outside sources to fulfil body’s various requirements while non essential are created by body itself so it is not necessary to take them from outside. Many important functions are played by proteins such as transportation of oxygen via blood to all the body cells, storage of nutrients, regulating growth and differentiation, catalysis of biochemical reactions, rendering structural integrity to body and protection of immune system. Thus it is an important ingredient of a healthy diet and one should have proper knowledge that which food products contain proteins.

It is also to be noted that how much quantity is to be taken per day based upon the age, gender, physical work load of the body. Fish, eggs, chicken, beans, lentils, peanuts, cheese, milk, bread and many other food products are the common sources of proteins. Vegetarians need to fulfil their daily requisites of proteins by combining various food items as there is no single source that can be considered as a complete protein source. Proteins in bread are a common way out for the vegetarians to complete their daily requirements of proteins in diet. As bread contains low quality of protein therefore it is essential to combine other food items like beans with it so as to accomplish protein needs of the body. For example bread can be taken with baked beans as both are complementary to each other. Some essential proteins in bread are lacking which are provided by baked beans so both when combined complete protein needs of the body.

Proteins help in losing weight as they boost up the metabolic rate of an individual. With an increase in the metabolism there is an increase in the consumption of stored fat which thus burns the fat present in the body and lowers the weight. An increase in the level of cholesterol, lipid fats, triglycerides and many other different types of fat in the body lowers the heath status. This is because they retard the normal functioning of cells that causes serious symptoms in an individual.

Accumulation of cholesterol in the body affects normal transportation of oxygen and nutrients via blood to various regions of it. An increment in cholesterol level makes a person obese that has an adverse effect on cardiovascular system. An obese person is more prone to heart attacks, strokes and other heart related problems that ultimately can lead to death. Therefore it is necessary to lose extra pounds of weight so as to lead a healthy life. Eating habits have to be changed so as to meliorate numerous health risks and one should take balanced diet that comprises of all nutrients in adequate amount.
