Introduction:

In this era, people want to look good and fit and appreciated by their peers.  For this reason people are spending thousands of dollars on weight loss supplements so that they are able to increase their body metabolism and can lose their weight at a rapid rate.  We really want everyone to be inspired from us and we believe and know that the way we look just has a whole lot to do with that and this urge just makes us explore different ways to be fit and healthy and be appreciated.

In America there are about sixty percent adults who are overweight and thirty percent are considered as obese.  There are different reasons for that and one should know them clearly, which involves the weight loss products promising people to help them reduce weight but it does not, the second thing is that the information about the supplements that is sworn is all that is written by the people themselves with no background research on the ingredients that are involved in the weight loss products.  People just want a quick fix and for that matter they use these supplements and are looking for a miracle to happen.

Steps Taken By Food And Drug Administration:

The Food And Drug Administration has effectively banned such nutritional supplements, which have not been approved by the Food and Drug Administration authority and have the ingredients, which have not been researched upon and the chemical dosages are not measured to make those supplements effective and according to the standards and have been affecting the health of the people in a negative way.  They have also banned the marketers, but there are still some products that are available in the market.

Deceiving The Customers:

There are still nutritional supplements that are present in the market that tell the consumers that their supplements are caffeine and ephedra free, but there are other ingredients that are present in those supplements which cause serious health risks if taken.

The Health Risks With Nutritional Supplements:

The health risks that occur with nutritional supplements include cardiac and gastrointestinal problems, insomnia and headaches and it can also cause psychological side effects.

EGCG Compound In Green Tea:

There are other nutritional supplement manufacturers who say that they make the supplements with EGCG, which is a phytochemical present in the green tea.  The manufacturers lie by saying that this chemical speeds up the metabolism, and through this ingredient present in the supplement, one can lose weight at a very high speed, which is not right.  The EGCG that is present in the green tea is a chemical that helps reduce the risk of cancer.  There are some studies that suggest that this burn calories but to a slight degree and not at a fast pace that the manufacturers say it does.  It is also said that this chemical helps lose weight by 60 to 70 calories a day and this helps prevent excessive weight gain.

Nutrients Claiming They Prevent Absorption Of Carbohydrates

There are other weight loss supplements that claim that people can lose weight by using the supplements that contain active ingredients that prevent the absorption of carbohydrates.  We can list an example of a compound called Chitosan, which is said to work really good in preventing fat absorption, but in reality it does not.  It can take a person months before they can lose even a pound of fat.

Can Supplements Control Appetite?

We eat when we feel hungry, but there are people who eat compulsively, whether they are feeling hungry or not, they have a desire to eat.  There are some nutrient manufacturers who say that they add ingredients to their supplements that cause the feeling of being full and thus decrease the appetite, such as guar gum.  The recent studies show that guar gum has no true benefit to weight loss.  There are manufacturers who add psyllium saying that it controls the appetite and aids in weight loss, but the studies do not support this claim, but it helps in controlling blood cholesterol and sugar.

Word Of Advice

It is safer to not try these supplements, but to work on eating healthy and according to the daily requirements of a healthy adult.  You must take on healthy activities such as brisk walking, exercise at the gym and eat healthy food and be focused on reducing weight and looking fit and smart.
