Does 5 Factor Diet Really Work?

The 5 Factor Diet is obviously not a diet pill. It’s a diet plan created by celebrity trainer Harley Pasternak. He claims that by following this simple plan for just 5 weeks, you can lose weight. Any diet that does not promote a lifestyle change and works for only a short period of time is not worth it. You have to be able to create sustainable habits and therefore a long term diet plan so to say.
So how does it work?
Well, it has 5 surrounding everything. Some of it is actually common sense. For example, they say that you should have 5 small meals per day. 5 small meals per day is good. Actually, that’s something everybody talks about. And so, we’re not entirely sure why you would need his book to tell you that.
However, some parts are just there for show to get into the 5 plan. For example, they say that each meal should include 5 ingredients and be prepared in 5 minutes. While it may be good if your ingredients are fruits and vegetables and you are simply cutting them up, if your 5 minute meal is convenient because it’s macaroni and cheese warmed up in the microwave, not so good.
Problems With The 5 Factor Diet
This being said, there are some things about it that are flat out false. For example, right now they have this idea that you should do 5 exercises for 5 minutes each for a total of 25 minutes. First of all, they have now come out with the fact that you should have at least 1 hour of pure cardio to really burn fat per day! So you obviously aren’t getting that being that the total time is less than half that. But also, not all of those exercises are cardio, and you really can’t get the kind of time in each exercise that you need.
Conclusion
This diet is based around convenience. It’s based around the idea that if you can do it in a short amount of time, it will make everything more effective, even though they are only giving you a 5 week plan. Really, we know and we hope you know that you have to take time. You have to make real changes, and making everything easy isn’t necessarily making everything effective. They provide you with some common sense yes. But most of it is based on false pretenses, making it ineffective.
