The latest diet craze to hit planet Hollywood, full of all of its anxious and extreme starlets, the Baby Food Diet is exactly what it sounds like. You get to eat what? Baby food. Like the grapefruit diet, there are some variations. Some people only eat baby food (starlets stick to the strictest form of this rather embarrassing diet), and some eat it for breakfast and lunch, combining it with a normal, but healthy dinner.

Using the Baby Food Diet
Logically speaking, if you use the strictest form you get plenty of mashed up fruits and vegetables. It cuts out a lot of the preservatives of prepackaged foods, and a lot of companies do focus on putting certain nutrients into baby food. So logically, it could have a cleansing effect if you get the right baby food.
But at the same time, does this fulfill all of your nutritional needs? Not necessarily. Adults’ bodies are different than kids’ bodies or infants’ bodies for obvious reasons. And frankly, most people, if only for the fact that it’s embarrassing, could not use the Baby Food Diet for a few weeks at a time, let alone for longer periods of time, even if allowed to eat one normal meal per day.
Alternatives to the Baby Food Diet
There are alternatives to the Baby Food Diet if you know what you’re looking for. The Baby Food Diet offers vitamins and minerals without many of the fillers and preservatives of prepackaged foods. A less embarrassing way to do this is by using a smoothie diet. Focus on smoothies you make at home, purely from fruits and vegetables, not from yogurt, ice cream, etc. This is a much less embarrassing and more adult way to do the same thing.
