Start Building Muscle and Burning Fat
Everyone knows that a cell of muscle is better than a cell of fat.
In fact, muscle cells actually burn more fat on their own because they use more calories just to maintain and keep them alive than any other cells in your body.
However, this knowledge doesn’t change the fact that your body is so much more inclined to build up fat stores rather than muscle.
Actually it hurts your cause because your body naturally wants to be as efficient as possible to survive.
So how do you win the battle and build more healthy muscle cells that keep the fat cells at bay?
Turn to the Plants
Whether it’s a tree, bush, stalk or vine, some of the best fat-fighting nutrients are found in the fruits and vegetables that grow on these plants.
One study done at the University of California at Los Angeles discovered that people who were at a healthy weight at least two servings of fruit a day while the average overweight person ate just one a day.
If you want to up your fruit intake, try to eat it before your meal because another study found that you’ll eat 15% less food if you eat fruit as your appetizer.
Boost Your Lean Protein
Unsurprisingly, your body needs protein to keep building those muscle tissues. But what is surprising is that sometimes all you need to do is eat more protein to trigger that muscle growth. Researchers found that every time you eat 10-15 grams of protein you stimulate a burst of protein synthesis in your body.
But if you’re really looking to boost your muscle levels, try to incorporate that protein into your breakfast so that you can get that increase early in your day.
Louis Aronne, the director of the Comprehensive Weight Control Program said that people who started their day with a meal of eggs dropped 65% more fat than those who ate simply bagels.
Incorporate A Supplement
Even though diet pills have gotten a bad name in the past, recent developments in the weight loss industry have turned weight loss supplements into a better and better option.
In fact, the supplement Apidextra has been designed to not only help you break down fat more readily, but has also improved the amount of muscle tissue that you can build. For more information on Apidextra, here are some Apidextra reviews.
Eat Before and After You Workout
Despite the fact that many crash diets will tell you otherwise, losing weight doesn’t have to be about starving yourself. In fact, in some cases you might even need to be eating more.
If you eat a snack of protein and carbs right before and after you work out you’ll be speeding up your muscle growth and recovery levels.
Also, if you don’t work out when you’re hungry then your body will be less likely to send out the stress hormone cortisol which can lead to weight gain.
So if you’re trying to lose weight and gain muscle, use these tips to help you burn more fat and put on some lean muscle mass.
NV Diet
NV Diet is a diet that looks very glamorous. It is endorsed by Holly Madison, a model and celebrity, and claims that it can produce amazing results. We are going to look a little closer and see if it really is as glamorous as it seems.
NV Diet Details
The NV Diet Website claims that users will be able to lose not only pounds, but inches, without having to sacrifice taste. Also, they will see amazing weight loss results in a very short period of time.
Holly Madison, the spokeswoman for NV Diet, reports that she went down a full pants size after only two weeks of using NV Diet.
One thing that we notice is that there is absolutely no information on the NV Diet website about how this weight loss supplement actually works. We don’t know if it is supposed to burn fat, suppress appetite, or a little of both.
The Good
There are definitely some things to love about NV Diet.
First of all, two of its key ingredients (though it does not list which ones) were clinically proven to produce weight loss.
In addition, it is easy to find all of the ingredients that make up the NV Diet formula, as they are posted on the home page of the NV Diet website.
Not only this, but for those who are sensitive to caffeine, there are two formulas: one with caffeine, and another without.
Finally, we love the price of NV Diet. At $49.95 plus $9.95 shipping and handling for 120 pills, it is very affordable.
In fact, if you do the math, it costs $0.50 per pill. If this is still a little too expensive for you, there are other places that you can find it online.
The Bad
Even though there are things to love about NV Diet, there are definitely other aspects that we are not excited about.
First of all, it is made of not one, but two proprietary blends. There actually is no information at all about the amounts of any of the ingredients.
Even though one proprietary blend is called the “NV Weight Loss Complex,” neither of the ingredients listed in it actually are related to weight loss at all.
The other proprietary blend, called the “NV Superfruit Complex,” actually has caffeine in it, meaning that it has the ability to raise your metabolism.
Because the amounts are not listed, however, there is no way to tell if NV Diet has the amount of caffeine that has been shown to help users lose weight.
Because the proprietary blend is used, we doubt that it has the right amount.
The Skinny
The bottom line with NV Diet is that we don’t quite trust it. It definitely has some perks, but the ingredients, which are really what weight loss supplements come down to, are very weak.
We seriously doubt NV Diet’s ability to produce any weight loss at all. Because of this, we can’t recommend it to consumers. Unfortunately, NV Diet does not live up to the glamour it advertises after all.

Nutrition Balanced Diet
Beef: It’s what’s for Dinner! Or is it? Our nostalgic diet from the 50′s of meat and potatoes has left over half of our population overweight.
With more energy available to every American, and less work needed to obtain it, it’s becoming easier and easier to pack on the pounds and harder and harder to shed them.
Part of the problem is the food choices we face. Our capitalistic society is focused on maximizing output and minimalizing input. Companies produce low cost foods that are based on low cost ingredients like corn. This leaves us with a plethora of affordable processed foods. Setting aside morality and politics, there are several benefits to different types of food. It’s our choice to determine what to include in our diet so we can eat healthy. So what are the pro’s and con’s of different foods?
Grains
Quite simply, humans need grains to survive. Wheat surprisingly has all of the nutrients a human body needs to survive with minimal supplementation. However, corn has little nutritional value and only provides sugars and some fiber before passing through the digestive tract. Grains grow abundantly, but need to do so to support modern industrial demand. Grains are cheep, plentiful and life sustaining. It’s no wonder it’s called it the “bread of life”.
Meat
Many people think that meat is just an unhealthy filler. While meats can contain fats and cholesterol, they are a vital source of protein. The reason meat is so filling is because it is so easily assimilated into our bodies (it is similar to what it already there), meaning it is more energy efficient to eat meat over other food sources.
Dairy
While not essential for life (many Asian cultures have little dairy in their diets) milk provides healthy fats, protein and is packed with nutrients. However, milk also contains unhealthy fats as well.
Plants
Fruits and vegetables provide sugars and nutrients that are hard to obtain through other sources of food. With no health drawbacks (except in some exotic plants) Fruits and vegetables should be as important to the diet as grains. However, sugars from fruits are only quick sources of energy, and the mass of plant matter is undigestable by humans (as apposed to meats, where almost all of the nutritional value is obtained before it becomes waste)
Processed Foods
While it is true that most of the preservatives and salt in processed foods can cause long term health problems, processed foods can be packed with nutrients and energy. Stay away from high-frutose corn syrup and salt, but find processed foods high in grains. Processed foods also include multivitamins, magic pill, but there are weight loss supplements, and other substances that have improved the American quality of life.
In the end, no one food source is superior to the others, but each must be eaten in a balanced diet.
Chocolate Diet
Sacrificing sweets is a common requirement for dieting, but it does not have to be.
A lot of diets have strict guidelines and recommendations, requiring you to count calories consistently and avoid sugary treats. Although effective, most people end up hating diets and quitting before reaching any weight loss goals.
The chocolate diet is a simple plan to help you lose weight efficiently and effectively without losing your commitment. Rather than having a long list of dos and don’ts the chocolate diet relies on self-supervision.
The chocolate diet is lowering caloric intake, eating healthier, exercising, and adding a daily dose of dark chocolate. The chocolate diet allows you a small sugary reward daily without sabotaging your entire dieting efforts. By eating a piece of dark chocolate, you are able to satisfy your sweet tooth to crush cravings and avoid binging later.
As it turns out, dark chocolate is the most beneficial type of chocolate. Dark chocolate happens to have the least amount of sugar and fat. Dark chocolate also has a number of additional benefits for the body.
By eating dark chocolate in moderation daily, you can reduce the risk of cardiovascular disease. Dark chocolate has polyphenol, which acts as an anti-inflammatory agent with antioxidant properties to reduce the amount of damaging free radicals.
Caffeine is also found in dark chocolate. The small amount of caffeine in chocolate can help uplift your mood and maybe even stimulate your metabolism.
Other nutrients in dark chocolate include vitamins and minerals. Some of the minerals in dark chocolate include calcium, potassium, zinc, and iron. Alongside these minerals vitamin A, B, C, and E helps enhance the immune system and improve overall health.
By eating small amounts of chocolate daily, dieting does not have to be tedious and bland. Dark chocolate can be a beneficial addition to any diet as long as you maintain portion control.
Ballerina Diet
You don’t have to be a ballerina to have the body of a ballerina.
Dancers are known for their slim physiques. Although rigorous dance training is partly responsible for the typical dancer figure, the right diet is just as important.

The ballerina diet is a set of dietary guidelines that help ballerinas and dancers keep a strong and stable figure. Unlike other fads, the ballerina diet teaches portion control and helps reduce caloric intake.
The ballerina diet is also not a crash diet. The ballerina diet will help you lose weight at a steady and healthy pace so weight loss results are not fleeting.
Following the ballerina diet, alongside a daily exercise routine could be just as beneficial for you as dancers.
The ballerina diet includes:
• Divide every serving in each meal in half.
• Do not add soup to a meal. Soup is to be an independent meal.
• Avoid mixing proteins in a single meal (dairy, meat, and fish).
• Start using low fat or fat free dairy products including cheeses. Even begin to dilute milk with ice or water before you drink it.
• Remove mayonnaise from your diet.
• Avoid salt. For flavoring, replace salt with spices.
• Drink water 30 minutes prior to a meal or an hour after each meal.
• Drink 8-10 glasses of water daily.
These guidelines may seem strict, however, the rules do not determine exact meals; leaving room for personal discretion. It is also important to maintain daily nutritional requirements during the ballerina diet.
Adding exercise to this regimen is just as important as following the diet itself. Combining exercise with the ballerina diet will ensure weight loss.
Overall, the ballerina diet should stabilize your metabolism and help you lose weight efficiently.
Chinese Diet Pills
A lot of weight loss supplements have minor side effects, but what about fatalities?
Chinese diet pills have a dark past. For several years Chinese diet pills have practically poisoned the public in Asia with harmful formulas that leave plenty of people at risk for severe illnesses. In recent years, at least seven women in China, Japan, and Singapore have lost their lives from taking Chinese diet pills.
A number of Chinese diet pills have been banned, but the industry isn’t completely safe. The problems with Chinese diet pills will continue to be an issue until the manufacturing process is adjusted. Because Chinese diet pills can be considered a “health food” instead of a pharmaceutical product, the manufacturing process is less strict. As such, diet pills are under minimal supervision during development and no safety tests are required. The loose regulations leave supplements with too much freedom and the unhealthy supplements infiltrate the industry.
The problem with the product development is one thing and the problem with the product packaging is another. Currently some Chinese diet pills neglect full disclosure on supplement facts, proper use guidelines, and warnings considering side effects or long-term risks. Without these three very important details, women in Asia are putting misplaced faith into weight loss supplements.
In a study concerning fifteen Chinese diet pills, conducted by a professor at the Chinese University of Hong Kong, only one product had proper labeling. All the other products neglected to outline product usage or tell the consumer about potential side effects.
In Japan, there were nearly 600 recently recorded illnesses associated with Chinese diet pills. Some of these illnesses include severe liver damage. It may seem easy to place some blame on the unsuspecting women, but it is more common for people to assume a product is safe than not.
The best way to avoid the risk associated with Chinese diet pills, is to not even consider them.
CLA Dosage

CLA has been hailed as an easy way to support and maintain healthy weight. Its effectiveness has made it a part of thousands of health supplements. But no matter how effective the ingredient might be, it’s important to get it in the right dosage to make sure it provides the best results.
CLA is a fatty acid shown to help people manage their weight. It has been clinically proven to reduce body fat and build lean muscle mass to improve body composition over all. But as good as its benefits are, CLA will not be effective if not used in the proper amounts. Studies have shown the dosage of CLA that will help you lose the highest amount of weight is about 3 grams per day. 3 grams per day was shown to help people lose an average of 90 grams of fat per week. More than 3.2 grams showed no added benefits.
As mentioned above, proper dosages of CLA can help the average person lose about 90 grams of fat a week. It may not seem like a whole lot, but that’s about ten pounds over the course of the year. This slow approach to weight loss may not be ideal for helping obese people get slim fast, but it still can be a valuable asset in your quest for weight loss.
In the future, make sure that you always look up the clinically tested dosages before buying a product. If you’re buying too little of an ingredient, it won’t yield its maximum benefits. If you’re buying a supplement that contains too much of an ingredients, your paying for more than your body can actually use. To make sure you always get the most cost effective products, make sure they have precise dosages.
Inositol Benefits

Inositol is renowned for its beneficial effects over the mind but new data is suggesting that it may also have potential to fight fat also.
Mental Benefits
Inositol is a compound similar in many ways to a B-complex vitamin. It is not considered a vitamin since the body can produce it on its own. But even while the body produces its own supply, some benefits have been observed by supplementing your diet with more inositol, especially benefits in the nervous system. Inositol has been shown to help the brain produce and use choline, an important neurotransmitter. By supporting choline, Inositol can actually improve memory, lift mood, relax the body, protect neurons, and regulate nerve impulses.
Fat Benefits
But aside from these mental benefits, recent studies may show that Inositol has the power to reduce fat. Working as a lipotropic, Inositol has been shown in emerging studies to help break up fat into smaller components. Breaking fat apart helps the metabolism burn it more easily. Inositol has also been shown to also reduce cholesterol levels. It removes fat from the liver and reduces the amount of bad cholesterol present in the bloodstream while increasing HDL. This can help prevent cholesterol buildup in the veins that lead to arterial hardening.
Conclusion
However, the studies showing these benefits are still fairly new so going out an buying an Inositol supplement may be a little premature. A better alternative would be adjusting your diet. You can probably get enough Inositol from eating healthy. Grains, fruits, and beans have all been shown to be high in Inositol.
Does LeanGard Really Work?

The key to understanding LeanGard is understanding 3 different ingredients and why combinations often work better than individual ingredients. LeanGard is actually made up of 3 other patented ingredients for one of the few patented blends currently available.
It combines the clinically proven benefits of these 3 patented ingredients, being used as an ingredient of its own that requires significantly smaller amounts than you would normally need to get results with all 3 combined. What are these 3 parts?
Key Ingredients Used
Forslean – Forslean has been used to build lean muscle mass, and it can increase metabolism over time, therefore helping you to lose more weight and get better results over time while simultaneously keeping the weight off more effectively.
GarCitrin – A patented form of garcinia cambogia, GarCitrin can be used to burn fat and promote better weight loss results without any stimulants and without the related side effects. It typically requires about 1500mg.
Bioperine – While not a weight loss ingredient, this patented form of black pepper is essential to a good weight loss supplement, maximizing the natural absorption of nutrients into the body, therefore making other ingredients more effective.
Conclusion
According to studies, LeanGard only requires you to use 500mg doses twice daily to get results, which is surprising considering the fact that garcinia cambogia on its own typically requires about 1500mg. But clinical studies show that LeanGard can do this with less.
So far, it does not seem to show any side effects, and this combination of ingredients is significantly more effective than any one of the ingredients alone.
Does Hypnosis Work for Weight Loss?
Could losing weight really be as easy as staring at a swinging watch? According to some die-hards, hypnosis is the newest and best way to lose weight. After hearing so many raving testimonials we had to see if this idea held any water.
Hypnosis has been around for thousands of years and not just as a stage act. Its been put to use as a therapeutic tool in many cultures. It’s meant to help put people in a different state of consciousness where their mind is more susceptible to the power of the suggestion. Suggestions received during this state seem to carry more weight and make deeper impressions. These suggestions are given to help change people’s thinking patterns, break negative associations, and ultimately alter behavior. These changes can be geared toward helping people with stress, self confidence, and yes, even weight loss.
Hypnosis is not an easy way out of exercising or dieting. You can tell some to be skinny and have their mind do all the work for them, even while “hypnotized.” Instead hypnosis is meant to change your attitudes toward healthier living. It will still require discipline, hard work, and sacrifice to lose weight. You still have to make the choice to be healthier. Hypnosis only helps make those choices easier. Ultimately losing weight is still a matter of will power, with or without hypnosis.
If you are considering hypnosis, you should be aware that its not the most cost effective way to approach weight loss. From studies we’ve seen, most people only lose about 5 to 10 pounds but they rack up hundreds of dollars in therapy bills in the process. You could lose more weight by putting that money into a gym membership or a regimen of dietary supplements.
