Does Chia Seed Diet Really Work?

The Chia Seed Diet is basically a way to incorporate a substitute for butter, fats, sugars, etc into your food. They claim that these chia seeds can help you to stay full without adding empty calories to your diet, replace half the butter/fat in many recipes, provide you with all natural and caffeine free weight loss, and give you powerful and all natural antioxidants as well. They talk about this being the ultimate superfood that will finally help you to get greater results in general. But the question is, if it is such a superfood, why is the only real association with it the ch-ch-ch-chia song that we have heard on TV with chia pets that actually grow quite a few different seeds?

So how does it work? Well obviously you replace things in your food with chia seeds. But while you may think of it in many ways, and actual chia seeds are rich in nutrients, they are no substitute for fats. Moreover, they do not in and of themselves have any particular weight loss benefits. It is basically just replacing some calories. However, it has no intrinsic weight loss benefits. This being said, obviously it is like acai. Acai is rich in certain essential nutrients. However, it does not have any of the real weight loss benefits that they end up talking about.

We would not suggest wasting your time or money on chia seeds or the Chia Seed Diet. Basically, you could choose low fat options, use lower calorie butters, vegetable oils, etc, and that would be spending the same amount in many cases as you would be spending anyway instead of spending more as you would on the Chia Seed Diet.
