Does Meratol Really Work?

Meratol

I first found Meratol on the Capsimax site. So obviously, there’s a connection there. Both sell exclusively in the UK, and both focus on an ingredient called capsicum (cayenne pepper). But according to ads, Capsimax is obviously pretty limited with only one ingredient. Meratol on the other hand has 4 ingredients to burn fat, block carbs, suppress appetite, and burn 12 time more calories at the same time.

As for me, I agree, at least a little. 4 is better than 1 if all 4 are clinically proven weight loss ingredients. And I have seen quite a few natural ingredients like cayenne that are capable of some pretty impressive weight loss results. Everywhere I turn actually, researchers compare stimulant free fat burners to cayenne. Evodiamine, razberi-k, and other major fat burners supposedly work the same way, creating a lipolytic effect in the body. But it all depends on what those 4 ingredients are.

Key Ingredients Used

Prickly pear – There is a cacti called opuntia, and there are about 300 different varieties. The stems have been used to help some to treat type II diabetes and it seems to promote a powerful anti-inflammatory effect. But when it comes to weight loss, you’d have to be more specific about which species it was. Most of those species have no effect on excess fat.

Brown seaweed extract – Again, brown seaweed could describe any number of species. Ingredients like kelp and fucoxanthin have been proven to work to some extent. But fucoxanthin only has animal studies to back it up. And again, we can’t even be sure that Meratol has fucoxanthin anyway.

Cactus extract – I don’t understand the generalization. Does Meratol have any idea how many species of cacti there are in the world? There are cacti like caralluma fimbriata that are proven to promote weight loss. And then there are cacti like hoodia gordonii, which has basically been proven not to. But last time I checked, using “cactus extract” doesn’t mean much.

Capsicum extract – Cayenne pepper, possibly the only solid, definable, and effective ingredient in this whole blend. Cayenne pepper is a measuring stick other ingredients are held up to. It promotes only a mild fat burning effect. But it has a very specific approach, promoting a lipolytic effect with its spicy taste. And on occasion, because of this, it can lead to heartburn.

Conclusion

Meratol is all-natural or at least I think it is. Meratol does not provide a full ingredients list, not to mention the fact that 3 out of 4 of the ingredients aren’t even ingredients. Obviously, “cactus extract” is an ingredient. But what I mean is there’s no way to tell which cactus Meratol is talking about. So if you’re taking Meratol, good luck. I don’t think you’ll have to worry about jitters or any of that. But when I spend $40, I expect to get something a little more solid.
