Does Nutrisystem Really Work?

Promoted by Marie Osmond, Nutrisystem claims that it alone can help you to lose weight. They even have a diabetes specific formula that they claim will help you to lose more weight than the medical programs. The only reason for that from what we’ve found is that they give you prepackaged meals so you don’t have to think about it. People who think about it, especially with type 2 diabetes, and cut out the carbs, have trouble not losing weight if anything.

But this in mind, there are major problems with Nutrisystem. Yes, it does technically work, and for a while, they actually had a good thing going. The problem is that frankly, they only provide you with prepackaged meals. They don’t actually teach you anything about what you need to diet and maintain that weight loss, which is a problem with many diets in general. This is the reason why when using Jenny Craig, Kirstie Alley ended up gaining all the weight back and then some. She had no idea how to actually maintain the results on her own. And while not particularly appetizing, these meals are often speaking quite expensive.

They don’t give you extra help in any way, shape, or form, and realistically speaking, the foods don’t taste that good according to consumer reports. There are many consumers complaining about the impossible to like tastes, the portions that really don’t fill you up and leave you hungry, and the fact that they are gaining all the weight back after stopping the diet. So we would not recommend using Nutrisystem.
