Does Reductil Really Work?

A prescription weight loss product, Reductil is based on an ingredient called Sibutramine. They claim that it is only for patients with a BMI over 30, and apparently it will help you to control the brain to control appetite. They claim that it will be the most effective thing you’ve ever used. And of course, being a prescription, it is combined with a doctor supervised diet and exercise program, and so for many consumers, it has actually been quite successful and popular to some degree.
How It Works
Reductil is part of a class of drugs known as serotonin reuptake inhibitors. They give you 10mg or 15mg dosages, and they claim that you will be able to keep your cravings, appetite, and therefore weight in check. You can use it if you have not been able to lose and maintain a 5% weight loss in the past space of time. It helps you to effectively eat less. And it has fewer side effects than an amphetamine. However, just like an amphetamine, it is not meant for long term use.
Reductil Conclusion
Reductil still comes with quite a few potentially severe and serious side effects including psychosis. It can only be used for short periods of time, and frankly it can easily become addictive just like many other prescriptions. It has enough side effects to warrant worry while its benefits are short lived and often can be beat out by the right over the counter supplement. So obviously, it doesn’t have what you want or need. We would definitely suggest that you find another option, because to be honest, most of the weight loss achieved with Reductil is not because of Reductil, but because of the compliance or lack thereof of the patient when it comes to the ordered diet and exercise program meant to accompany it.
