Does Sensa Really Work?

Sensa, or Sensa Tastants, are a “sprinkle” form of a weight loss supplement making them a very unique product, at least in form. Sensa is meant to be sprinkled on to your food at meal time and is thought to aid in weight loss by promoting a faster and longer lasting feeling of satiety. This product describes the method that their product works as using “…your senses of smell and taste as allies in weight loss. Sprinkling Tastants on your food makes you feel full faster by stimulating the part of your brain that tells your body it’s time to stop eating.” They talk about starting clinical trials in your area, and this is just another way of drawing you into an expensive auto ship like “free trial offers” do. Clinical trials don’t tell you what you are or aren’t trying, they don’t require you to pay, in fact they pay you if anything, and 50% of participants while being weighed every so often with weight loss studies, are taking a placebo. But what are the ingredients?

Maltodextrin-a natural filler and preservative, this does not promote weight loss

Tricalcium phosphate-an essential nutrient, it is good for bones, teeth, etc. But it does not actually promote weight loss despite what the milk commercials may tell you.

Silica-a natural filler and preservative, this does not promote weight loss

Natural and artificial flavors-a grouping of flavorings and tastants, these do not actually measure up to the scientific bases of some clinical studies.

Now this description comes from the Sensa website. There was one recent study that was quite highly publicized. In it, the researcher found that those who had seasonings on their food actually ate significantly less than those who did not. Now if they are no calorie, etc, seasonings that’s fine. They used a variety of flavorings actually. However, some flavorings would obviously just add more calories. This being said, Sensa does not actually follow this. They seem to just use fillers and artificial flavorings. So obviously, Sensa is not the same thing, and Sensa will not work.
