Does Zylotrim Really Work?

Zylotrim is produced by the “Obesity Research Institute” but don’t let that influence you too strenuously. This company has been on the wrong side of the Federal Trade Commission more than once. The product website is generic at best and provides no solid information in regard to what Zylotrim is composed of or how it works in the body. The most we are told is that an active ingredient is from South America and is extracted from a yam.

Finding the ingredients by way of the manufacturers may not have worked but, happily, the active ingredient was easy enough to confirm through other measures (in this case contacting a nationwide distributor). The active ingredient is 3-Acetyl-7-Oxo-Dehydroepiandrosterone, which is generally known as 7-Keto DHEA, or just 7-Keto. 7-Keto is a metabolite of DHEA which is a steroid hormone that is produced by the human body. This ingredient has no known side-effects and therefore offers the benefits of a steroid without the risk. There is a modicum of science behind the use of 7-Keto and its effectiveness in relation to positively affect the thyroid hormone levels in the obese.

Our main concern in regard to Zylotrim is not its efficiency but it’s pricing. One bottle contains only 30 pills, which are meant to be taken two at a time and twice a day. While they do offer a two bottle bonus deal at $24.99 the capsules included will only last two weeks. This makes your monthly expenditure closer to $50. While this product could give you results it is not the only supplement on the market containing 7-Keto and it is far from the most reasonably priced. Zylotrim’s science is encouraging but its pricing knocks it from the head of the pack.
