Why do we need to do it?
It should be noted that by now, everyone has realized that people in North America, UK etc. eat a lot than they should. It does not happen because the people in those countries have a more hunger or anything than others. It just happens because people tend to try to finish the food given in front of them. So, typically the servings given to them are more in countries like USA, UK. An average restaurant will give you a serving that is like 3 to 4 times more than an ideal serving. It is studied that people given a small serving of food are satisfied as much as people who are given a large serving. So, it’s a mental thing and the appetite is not an issue here. Its just kind of a “completion compulsion” among people that they have to finish anything given in front of them to make them full.
How to do it
As we know, Obesity is becoming a epidemic in the world. Though there are a lot of people dying in the world, in countries like USA, UK etc. Obesity is a major problem, which not only makes you inactive but also can result in extremely dangerous and fatal diseases to the victims. So, burning the extra calories seems to be a clever option to fight off this problem. But that does not mean that we have to stop eating or anything. We just have to control and limit the servings of food and its consumption. We don’t have to live on grapefruits and water to survive and not be obese. There are certain measures that can be taken by each of us personally if they have overweight or obese problems. We should try to ward off bad fats that we consume in large amounts that makes our body extra fatty and ultimately may lead to obesity. For example, of the various foods we take in each day, most of the servings given to us are larger than 3 or 4 times as mentioned earlier. That makes the calorie content of that food
Content much higher as well. So, we should maintain some knowledge at least about the calorie content of some of the foods we take in. The average calorie content of an average meal should be about 80 to 90 ideally. But most people hardly know this. So, they keep on consuming these oversized meals on a regular basis. Another thing is the calorie content does not depend on the size or quantity of a food item. An oily substance or cheesecakes etc. will contain a lot more calories even when in small quantities. But any food substances like cabbages, or vegetables etc. even when given in large amounts do not cause any problems, as the calorie content is very low. A slice of cheesecake may contain up to 130 to 140 calories but a cabbage or vegetable that may fill a whole plate will contain a much much lower calorie content. . So, these foods are said to be good for health and also are very nutritious, as they have lower calorific substances.
