Cortisol & Weight Gain
Whenever we feel stressful our body in response to that produces Cortisol hormone. They are secreted through adrenal glands. One of the works of this hormone is to trigger glucocorticoid effect which produces blood sugar from the proteins present in the body. The excess of glucose it used in production of fats. This so in a way is responsible in making a person obese by depositing fats in the body.
This hormone are also produces in the person under stress who have a tendency to eat high fat food than compared to the person in the same condition who do not eat high fat food. One solution to such problem is by taking anti obesity hormones like DHEA which is also a type of adrenal hormone. This hormone helps in decreasing food intake, excess insulin and fat tissue. Best thing about this hormone is that it does not effects glucose levels.
A person can go for Relaxation instead for the hormones for the weight reduction as Relaxation is directly linked to weight reduction. Relaxation is the key to good health. It also helps lowering the cortisol level. There are many people who when under stress would use to eat a lot and gained a lot of weight. They all tried different methods but all had some side effects. At last relaxation was the natural way to reducing fats from the body and had no side effects. One should make relaxation as the top priority job of the day. One can even go for yoga a class which help a person to relax through meditation and ultimately helps in reducing the excess cortisol from the body. The main problem with people is that they know the way to reduce stress and thus cortisol but never try them. A person should exercise daily and should avoid eating fatty food.
A person can be stressed with almost any type of job say stuck in a traffic jam or had a fight with the person’s spouse regularly or is going a stressful job like a job requiring to complete a cumbersome job in unrealistic time spam, and stress is directly linked to secretion of cortisol hormone which makes a person gain weight. A person should try to have a quality sleep is it can really make a lot of difference in your efforts to reduce stress level because with this a person’s body can get enough time to relax and free from stress plus recharge its mind for the next mental or physical battle. Other ways of reducing stress is by doing work that the person likes the most and do not require lot of concentration like listening songs, taking bath, washing your feet with a scrub etc. These types of works are stress busters. One may also take a deep breath in the morning in fresh air as it opens mind and body which reduces lot of stress and gives the body proper supply of oxygen. So, think positive and eat healthy.
