This energy is used for the operation of the vital organs such as the heart, lungs, brain, liver and kidneys. BMR is known to decrease with age and is primarily caused by oxidative stress.

The Recommended Dietary Allowance (RDA) of vitamin C in the United States for individuals of 19 years and above is 90 mg for males and 75 mg for females. Considering the fact that the human body cannot generate vitamin C, we must acquire it through our food consumption.
