What To Look For When Choosing a Diet Pill
When looking for a diet pill, it can be confusing. I know from experience. As a teenager, I went through various diet pills, diet plans, etc, and frankly speaking that seems to be the American culture. It grows more and more every year. Essentially speaking, rates of obesity grow every year, and yet ironically, as a nation, we buy more weight loss pills every year. With this in mind, obviously we’re doing something wrong. We suffer side effects without actually seeing benefits.
So what do you look for when choosing a diet pill? What should you avoid? Here are a few things to look for when you are looking for a diet pill that might be right for you.
The first thing that I feel that everyone should watch out for is safety. Now in general terms, we like to believe that the market has eliminated problem ingredients for us. We like to believe that if they are dangerous, somebody has already uncovered the problem and therefore all the diet pills we have available to us now must be safe. Obviously, judging by incidents such as the recent Hydroxycut recall, this is just not true.
One major ingredient to avoid is ephedra. Ephedra is a powerful stimulant that was banned in 2006 by the FDA. However, recently, it was brought back. That’s a scary thought, and the scarier thought is the fact that there were companies in the midst of it all who were actually trying to lie and hide higher ephedrine contents during the time it was banned. Of course, for many companies, it is all about the money. Who cares about your safety as long as they are making that extra buck? This being said, there are plenty of companies out there now bragging about the use of the now legal 25-30mg. They brought this amount back to be used for the treatment of asthma, and they brought it back in this small amount, because it would not promote weight loss. But it still causes potentially serious side effects.
Another ingredient to watch out for is Clenbuterol. While this is not legally available, it still deserves attention. Now if you know anything about clenbuterol, there are constantly people talking about it on serious weight loss and bodybuilding websites. They talk about its amazing fat burning capabilities, and in many individuals, it has shown to be pretty effective. However, what you may not know is that Clenbuterol was originally meant to be used in horses. It is extremely dangerous, and it has even been shown to cause serious heart and other problems when USED ON HORSES! Obviously, they are much bigger creatures than ourselves, and any problems in horses would be multiplied in smaller beings.
Lastly, the final ingredient that we have on our radar as an unsafe ingredient is yohimbine. I cannot say enough about yohimbine. It is used as a sexual enhancer or for that matter an aphrodisiac in men. It was traditionally used in Ayurvedic medicine, and there are some who believe that it creates more testosterone in the body, which is why it is used in some diet pills and muscle builders as a way to encourage fat burning and the building of lean muscle mass. The problem is that scientific studies have not proven this to be true, and even if they were, this ingredient should only be used in diet pills specifically for men due to the testosterone element. This being said, it has been shown to contribute to heart attacks, strokes, renal failure, and severe kidney damage.
And realistically speaking, while not particularly dangerous, you should look out for hyped ingredients. For the most part, if you see it on CNN, Oprah, or other popular news stations, you can largely guarantee that you will not see results. It’s not that they will cause death, heart attacks, etc. It’s just that they most likely will not be effective in producing the desired results. They are called gimmicks for a reason and the majority of the money is spent on advertisements as opposed to product development. And in the case of ingredients like hoodia and acai (two of the biggest diet pill fads) there are actually scientific studies that prove that you will not see any greater results.
So what should you look for when searching for the right diet pill? Here’s a basic breakdown that you may find helpful in choosing the best weight loss pill.
*Avoid free trial offers!
*Look out for products based solely on reservatrol, hoodia, acai, pomegranate, or other ingredients you see on TV.
*Look for a money back guarantee. Preferably look for a lifetime money back guarantee, but at the very least, you should get 60 days.
*Look for clinically proven ingredients, they should be able to cite clinical studies or you should be able to find them on reliable sites such as PubMed.
*Even better, look for patented ingredients. Patented ingredients are bigger, better, and oftentimes even safer.
*Look for a full ingredients list. Many times, hyped up products focused on ingredients such as acai for example, will give you a few “key ingredients.” They are hiding a formula that does not work.
*watch out for sites that will not let you leave without a pop up-these are usually coupled with free trial offers.
*Look for a reasonable price-it should fall somewhere in the middle. At $5-$10, you will never find a valid weight loss pill. But you shouldn’t have to pay $80-$100.
*Look for a variety of approaches-a weight loss pill that is just a fat burner, just an appetite suppressant, just a cleanser, just this, just that, will never work as well as a product that is a fat burner, appetite suppressant, blood sugar regulator, cleanser, etc in one. It’s simple mathematics.
*Use a product that has lean muscle builders. Half the battle is maintenance. When you build lean muscle mass, it increases your body’s natural metabolism. You don’t have to be big and bulky. But it will leave you defined and not “soft” as they put it.
With this in mind, there are a couple of products I have found to live up to every requirement and to actually produce results. First of all, there is a product called Adipril. Adipril is among only a few weight loss pills to use any patented weight loss ingredients, let alone to use 6 patented weight loss compounds along with 4 clinically tested fat burning and weight loss ingredients. You could lose 10 pounds in 7 days with this formula, because it works with a 1 track mind. It works to help you to lose weight in every way. With these patented ingredients, you are sure to see more effective and more concentrated results without many of the usual side effects and without huge pills that would be required to get all the effective amounts were you to use the original forms of said ingredients.
