Tae Bo is a kick boxing workout made popular by a series of videos and many gyms and YMCAs now offer kick boxing classes that their customers can enjoy. This is a more enjoyable way for a person to use a boxing workout to lose weight, and it may be what most people think of rather than the actual training program that physical boxers undergo to get them ready to step into the ring.
Either form is a great way to lose weight, although adopting the boxing workout that professionals use will result in greater long term benefits, than just doing something like Tae Bo, which is designed to mimic the movements of a kick boxer in the ring. Of course, whether you use the full fledged boxing workout something else to lose weight, will be a matter of individual preference. Fitness gurus may debate about which exercise is the best and which one will burn the most calories, but they all agree the best exercise for any given individual is the workout that the person will do and stick with on a regular basis.
Before starting, be sure to know what each entails. As mentioned before boxing workouts include weight lifting, jumping ropes, and or course, hitting a punching back as hard as you can.
