Latest Research Weight GainingLooking into the latest research on weight gaining can help us determine certain factors that addition to our diet and activity level may help us to put on the pounds. Of course, if our goal is putting on the pounds as might be the case for a body builder or in some cases a boxer or a wrestler, the same research will let us what we need to do to gain weight. For now let us assume that we are looking for the latest weight gaining research because we are looking to drop the pounds, rather than put them on. One of the latest pieces of weight gaining research is that the body metabolizes things differently when it experiences certain emotions or is put under unhealthy stress. The chief emotion responsible for this type of weight gain is anger. The research does not suggest that anger is bad in and of itself, but that unhealthy expression of anger, in particular holding it in that increases stress on the body and causes it to store more fat, but that learning how to properly manage our anger is only one element of the latest weight gaining research. Of course, there are other tidbits from the latest weight gaining research that have nothing to do with anger management that show women gain more weight during their periods due to the levels of hormones present, but as this is a natural occurrence there is little that can be done about it other than for a woman to watch what she eats. But even the latest weight gaining research can not always give us the whole picture, research that was done prior to the pieces conducted above may reveal certain medical conditions such as an under active thyroid that cause excessive weight gain or perhaps the strangest one of all, that you may not be taking in enough essential fatty acids, although how the latter works is hard to grasp and beyond many people. Other factors can include certain medications and of course, the ever popular cause, kicking a nicotine habit. (The form can be in pipes, cigarettes, or chew. Nicotine, in addition to its other affects is an appetite suppressant, causing smokers to eat less than non-smokers do.) If the cause is something more than taking in more calories than you use, it is essential to visit a doctor so you can find out the exact cause of your weight gain. Not to mention that doctors will have even greater access into the latest bits of weight gaining research than will the author of this article. Reducing and relieving stress could not hurt either as the body tends to burn calories more efficiently when it is not too stressed out on a regular basis. The best way to stay up on the latest weight gaining research on your own is to read magazines dedicated to health and fitness. Most likely these are available at your local newsstand, or if you want to get off a little more cheaply in the reference section of your local library. |
